Terms of Use for images.MD

images.MD is a licensed database which allows OSU faculty, staff, and students to download, print, and import images for projects such as class handouts, PowerPoint presentations, and online course management systems.  

Permitted uses for the images in this database include:

• For study, research, and teaching.
• All users may search, view, retrieve, display, and print off single copies of the images in the database.
• OSU faculty, staff, and students may incorporate the images in print or electronic course or study packs and electronic reserves for OSU users.  Each item must acknowledge the source with a reference.
• OSU faculty, staff, and students may electronically save items for personal use.  

Prohibited uses of images in this database include:

• Commercial Use (use in the course of research funded by a commercial entity is allowed).
• Systematic distribution of an image to anyone other than OSU faculty, staff, or students.
• Systematically make print or electronic copies of multiple images.
• Provide an electronic copy of an image to an individual who is not OSU faculty, staff, or students.
• Post an image to the web or on the internet (with the exception of course systems and e-reserves accessible only to OSU faculty, staff, or students). 
• Publication of an image in a journal, book, or any other text.
• Modification of the images, except as necessary to be perceptible on a computer screen or for visually impaired users.
• Alteration of the words used with an image or their order.
