Journal Article Databases

CINAHL : Provides access to nursing and allied health information from 1982 to the present.  Over one thousand journals are indexed in the CINAHL database, including 96 physical therapy journals.

MEDLINE : Covers the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the preclinical sciences. This database contains citations and abstracts from over 4,300 biomedical journals.  Use MEDLINE to supplement and broaden your CINAHL search for literature relevant to physical therapy

Evidence Based Medicine Reviews :  A group of full-text databases providing "gold standard" information on diagnosis, treatment, causes, and prognosis of diseases and conditions.

PubMed : The version of MEDLINE accessible by the public from the National Library of Medicine's web site.  A particularly useful feature of PubMed is its "Clinical Queries" service, which provides filters allowing you to limit your retrieval to articles that report research done with specific methodologies.
