Fines and Recalls

Overdue Fines - Recalled Items

• Items may be recalled for use by another customer.  If the item is not returned by the specified date fines of $10 per day will accrue.
• Overdue Reserve items (books, folders, bones, room keys, etc) accrue fines at the rate of $2.00 for the first hour, $5.00 for each additional hour, per item.

Lost and Billed

• Items that are excessively overdue, and not renewed, are assumed lost.  A block will be placed on your record and a fine added.  The fines are as follows:

  Lost books                   $140 per item
  Lost journal volumes     $170 per volume

• If a lost item is returned the fine will be reduced; generally, only a billing fee will be charged ($10-20).
