Print resources are located on the first through fourth floor. Books can be checked out. Journals do not circulate and can be used in the library or copied.

FAQ

Q:  How do I locate a book?

A:  To locate all print and electronic materials, including books, use the library's online catalog (OSCAR). 

Q:  How do know where the book is located?

A:  All OSCAR records indicate the location of materials.  Items with the location HEA are located at the Prior Health Sciences Library.  HEA compact stacks indicates books on the fourth floor, HEA Reserve indicates the item may be found on Reserve, located at the Circulation Desk, 1st floor.

Q:  How do I locate a journal?

A:  Journal titles may be searched in the online catalog.  Journals at the Health Sciences Library are in alphabetical order on the third floor.

Q:   Aren't some journals available online, in full text?

A:  There are many journals available in full text.  A tip sheet for Finding Electronic Journals is available.  

Q:   How do I look for magazine and journal articles?

A:  In order to search for articles by author, subject, etc. you must access an online database.  This information is not available through the online catalog.  For more information see Database Searching.

Q:  Can I get help searching a database?

A:  Online tutorials and print guides are available to help you navigate the research databases.  For additional information see Reference Services.
