Issues in scholarly pub-rev draft
OPEN ACCESS DAY AT THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY IS OCTOBER 21, 2009
Librarians from several libraries at the Ohio State University are working together to plan NAME THIS EVENT HERE to promote open access publishing on October 21, 2009 FROM GIVE THE TIME HERE at the recently-opened Thompson Library. Open access publishing is a movement that encourages making scholarly publishing more freely available over the internet. The goal is to maximize the impact of research, particularly research that has been funded with public money.
NAME OF THE EVENT HERE will consist of a panel of speakers at GIVE ROOM AND DATE HERE, followed by a lunchtime roundtable discussion for invited participants. Speakers will include both people who publish in and edit open access journals and also those who are more skeptical of the movement. Those who attend will become more aware of their options as authors and editors in the world of scholarly publishing and more aware of the economics of scholarly publishing today.
Students, faculty, and staff at OSU, particularly any faculty and students who are doing research and publishing will benefit from this presentation.
