EMBASE Database Trial Information

Home > About the Library > Departments > Technical Services > EMBASE Database Trial Information

The Prior Health Sciences Library and Center for Knowledge Management has set up a trial of the EMBASE database that is avaialbe through March 21st.

EMBASE is a biomedical and pharmacological bibliographic database, which provides access to the most up-to-date citations and abstracts from biomedical and drug literature.  It contains over 19 million indexed records from 7,000+ peer reviewed journals from over 70 countries, covering 1947 to date.  EMBASE increases information retrieval capabilities by using EMTREE, an extensive thesaurus covering 55,000 preferred terms (including 27,000 drug terms), to search MEDLINE and EMBASE records.  In contrast, MeSH only covers 25,000 preferred terms.  The wider coverage of biomedical information and in-depth indexing available through EMBASE enables users to narrow down searches and generate more effective search results.  EMBASE covers over 1,800 biomedical journals that are not covered in PubMed.

To access the EMBASE trial visit the registration page, where you can enter your personal information and use the Subscription Key Ohionet444551 to register and create a personal account.

After completing the registration, you can access the EMBASE trial by logging in with your username and password at http://www.embase.com/.

User support tools including cheat sheets, a quick reference guide, online tutorials, and more are available here.

We would appreciate your feedback once you have had a chance to use EMBASE.  Please send any comments to ejournals@osumc.edu.
